Fun times started with a little argument between a recent winner on various local amateur poker houses, Mouseboy, who pocketed at least 1k with the recent win streak, and Maggot who just received a nice Christmas gift gadget and some cash. The verbal spat between the two stemmed from the squabble of whom will pay an extra cash to treat me for a Mang Inasal chicken dinner. I was there because I will fetched them a ride to Lantaka's residence. The argument bores no fruitful result, instead they ended up agreeing on buying Pedro's lechon manok. So we traveled westward into plaza Marcela. But alas! Their disagreement scene in Mang Inasal place consumed precious minutes and when we arrived at Pedro's manokan, we were greeted with a placard of "sorry we're close". We concluded the trip with a cold spaghetti dinner in Maggot's residence.
Cutting the scene short, we arrived at JC's house, but it was no house. It was a compound for heaven's sake. Inside, there were some surprises that awaits us. Genetically modified dogs greeted us with a suspecting look, cooks with no degree in any culinary skills were seen tossing spices on the pan and frying vegetables on a heated kwok and some were playing chess with one player named BJ pawned another player, Paplix, in a cheesy 4-moves fashion. The compound is big, well-lit and there is a basketball rim near the gate. Sheezo wanted to showcase his basketball prowess. We made a two 3-man team. Bet 20 pesos each. Densyo, Maggot and Mousboy in one team against Luwed, BJ and Sheezo. Early round gives a hint that it will be a physical play. With the ball firmly grasp in Luwed's hands, Mouseboy, and in no way resembles his nickname "mouse", charged Luwed like a bull, floating in the air with his knee resembling the horn, hit the left thigh of the ball-er which made him limped throughout the entire game. Sheezo's team was no matched for Densyo's team. Maggot's long limbs dismantles any attempt of Sheezo's Burgos-style layup. While Mouseboy's knees were a constant threat, there was Maggot's elongated nails and the genetically modified dogs' stools littered all over the court. Densyo's team won and they collected the easy cash prize.
We went back to the kitchen. JC got his camera then took some pictures. We tasted some of the food that were already cooked. The shanghai lumpia was okay, but not that good, because there is an after-taste of a fried egg, maybe the oil was re-used. The stuffed egg, which were made by boiling the egg then removing the skin and the egg yolk, replacing it with a spiced ground meat sprinkled with some flour, then deep fried. The stuffed egg idea was quite complicated and does not taste special. With the cost, I rather replaced it with a simple "bola bola".
With a little chit chat, some chess play, we didn't noticed that it was already 3 in the morning. We bade farewells and "see you tomorrow" goodbyes. Then at exactly 3:35 in the morning, at that same place, in that big compound located in upper Mansasa 5 meters away from former Mayor Rocha residence, something unexpected happened.
